Wedding vendors on Langkawi: what the resort covers, and what you'll bring in

Florists and decor, hair and make-up, cake, video and music for a Langkawi resort wedding: what the published packages include, what couples usually arrange themselves, and what to ask.

What the resort packages include comes from each resort's own pages, first read on 24 September 2026 and checked again on 4 October 2026. Confirm with the resort before you book.

What couples usually bring in

A package covers the ceremony. For anything larger, you'll usually arrange:

  • Florists and decor for the reception, a Malay pelamin (dais) or an Indian mandap. We haven't yet confirmed, from decorators' own sites, which ones are based on the island. If your decorator is coming from Penang or Kuala Lumpur, ask what the travel adds.
  • Hair and make-up beyond the bride's look: for the bridal party, for a Malay bride's several changes, or for a multi-day Indian wedding.
  • Video. No package we read includes a videographer.
  • Music: a band, a DJ, a kompang troupe for a Malay procession, or Indian musicians for a multi-day wedding.

Vendors coming from the mainland add travel, and often accommodation, to their price. Ask for it in the quote.

Vendor listings

We list a vendor only after it confirms its own details: where it's based, which resorts it has worked at, and what it charges. Listings will appear here as they're confirmed. If you need a vendor now, ask each resort which outside vendors it allows, using the questions below.

Questions to ask the resort about outside vendors

  1. Which outside vendors are allowed: decor, florist, make-up, photographer, videographer, band, caterer?
  2. Is there a fee per vendor or per set-up, and what does it cover?
  3. What are the set-up and tear-down times, and is there a curfew for music?
  4. Do outside vendors need insurance or a deposit?

See outside-vendor fees by resort for what the resorts publish. So far that's very little.
