When can we legally marry in Langkawi?
For two non-Muslim foreigners marrying under Malaysian law. JPN requires 7 days in Malaysia before you can apply, then displays your application for 21+1 days before the ceremony. Enter a date to see what that means for you.
- ArriveDay 1 in Malaysia
- Apply at JPNDay 8, in person
- Earliest ceremonyDay 30, if a registrar is free

How we count: your arrival day is day 1, you apply on day 8, and the earliest ceremony is 22 days after you apply, so 29 days after you arrive. JPN publishes the periods, not a worked example, so confirm the dates with JPN. A registrar also has to be free on the day, and a ceremony at your resort needs a separate licence.
