What a Langkawi hotel wedding costs: what the resorts actually publish

Four Langkawi resorts publish wedding prices, nine packages in all. Every one is a ceremony or elopement package, not a reception price, and only one feeds the guests. Here is what each figure covers, what it leaves out, and what to ask for the price of a reception.

We can't tell you what a Langkawi wedding reception costs, and nobody can from what the resorts publish.

We checked the websites of eleven Langkawi resorts in September 2026. Ten have a wedding page we could read and verify, and we checked every price on them again on 4 October 2026. Four of the ten print a wedding price: nine packages in all. Every one of those prices is for a ceremony or elopement package, and most are for small groups. Two are for 10 guests or fewer. Berjaya's factsheet sizes its package for 10, but its own package page says "Minimum of 30 persons". Three of the four Four Seasons packages include no meal or drinks for guests at all. No resort we read publishes the total price of a wedding reception. The Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis, Westin, Datai, Aloft and PARKROYAL send you to an enquiry form or a sales mailbox instead.

This page lists every price we found, what each one pays for, and where we read it, with dates. Then it covers what those packages leave out, and what to ask a resort so you get a reception figure you can actually compare.

What Langkawi resorts publish

These are package totals: one price for a defined bundle, in Malaysian ringgit (MYR, also written RM), as the hotel prints it. They are not per-person prices and not venue fees. Each covers a different number of people and different things, so they are not points on one scale. The lowest and highest figures in this table are not "the cost of a Langkawi wedding". They are two different products.

Resort and package Published price Basis Guests Meal or drinks for guests? Where we read it USD, conversion only
Berjaya Langkawi Resort, Enchanted Romance From MYR 12,888 nett Package total, "from" Ceremony items for 10. Its package page says "Minimum of 30 persons". We read the Four Seasons prices on the resort's own package pages on 4 October 2026. Its site turns away automated reading, so our first pass in September used archived copies of those pages. On 4 October we opened each package page in an ordinary web browser, and all four prices, guest numbers and inclusions matched. Every Four Seasons package page says "Package elements and price are subject to change". Four Seasons also lists a Vow Renewal package for 2 to 4 people. It isn't a wedding, so it isn't in this table.

About the USD column. These are conversions, not prices. Each resort quotes and bills in ringgit. We divided by Bank Negara Malaysia's middle rate for USD at the 12:00 session on 23 September 2026 (US$1 = RM 4.0750) and rounded to the nearest US$10. Your bank's rate on the day you pay will differ.

Other figures resorts publish, on a different basis

These use different units from the table above. Don't add them to a package total, and don't compare them with one.

Resort Figure Basis Where we read it
Berjaya Langkawi Resort Dinner reception from MYR 280 nett per person, minimum 40 persons, buffet or set dinner (≈ US$70 per person at the rate above) Per person, "from", optional add-on Same factsheet, checked 4 Oct 2026. The package page lists the 40-person minimum against an "International BBQ Buffet", with a "Western Set Menu" as the other choice
The Ritz-Carlton, Langkawi Corkage MYR 80 nett per bottle of wine, MYR 120 nett per bottle of hard liquor Per bottle, if you bring your own Events and weddings page FAQ, live, checked 4 Oct 2026

Berjaya's per-person figure is the only published price on the island that is close to a reception price. We haven't multiplied it by a guest count. "From" is a floor, not a quote. The factsheet doesn't say which menu it buys, whether drinks are included, or whether the ceremony package must be booked with it. A number worked out from it would be our estimate, not the hotel's price.

What these packages include, and what they don't

Read the inclusion lists and a pattern appears. These are packages for the ceremony and for the two of you. The guests' meal is left out.

Typically included (each hotel's list differs, so check the source):

  • A wedding specialist or coordinator, the ceremony set-up (arch, flowers, chairs, aisle petals) and a bouquet and boutonnière
  • A non-religious celebrant. That is a ceremony, not a legal marriage (see below)
  • Hair and make-up for the bride, pressing of the dress and suit, and couple's airport transfers (Four Seasons, The Danna). Pelangi lists bridal make-up and hair, and return airport transfers for the couple
  • A dinner for the couple: Four Seasons' "four-course romantic dinner for two", The Danna's "private candlelight dinner" with wine, Pelangi's "romantic dinner for the newlyweds". Berjaya's factsheet lists a "romantic 7-course Western set dinner by the beach" without saying how many people it serves. Ask.
  • A wedding cake at The Danna and Berjaya, in all three Pelangi packages (two tiers, 5 kg), and in three of the four Four Seasons packages. The Elopement's inclusion list has none, though its introduction mentions one. Ask.
  • Nights in a villa or suite in some packages: Berjaya (2 nights, Premier Suite on Water), Four Seasons Beach Wedding (2 nights, Beach Villa for the couple), Exclusive Luxury (2 nights, Three-Bedroom Beach Villa, breakfast for up to six), Pelangi (one night, "2D1N": a Sea View Room, a Junior Suite or the Pelangi Suite, by package)
  • A photographer, in one of the nine packages: the Four Seasons Elopement, "up to four hours". It is not in the other three Four Seasons packages or in Pelangi's.

Not included unless the list says so:

  • Dinner and drinks for your guests. This is the biggest gap. Four Seasons' Beach Wedding is sized for 50 to 80 guests and feeds two of them. Pelangi's packages are sized for up to 50, 100 or 150 people, and the only meal they list is the newlyweds' dinner. Only the MYR 150,000 package includes a guest dinner, and it's capped at 20.
  • Rooms for guests. Every Four Seasons package page says the package is "exclusively for in-house guests". You have to be staying at the resort to book it. Your guests' rooms are a separate cost.
  • Anything added. Four Seasons: "Additional services or items not included in the wedding package will be subject to additional charges." The Danna prints "*Terms & conditions applies" and doesn't publish the terms. Pelangi: "Additional charges may apply for any additional guests", and "*Terms & Conditions apply".
  • Tax and service charge, unless the hotel says the price is nett. Berjaya's package and dinner prices, and Pelangi's package prices, say "nett". The Danna's and Four Seasons' pages don't say either way.

If you're planning 10 people on a beach, one of these packages may be most of what you need. If you're planning 80 guests and a dinner, these prices don't cover your wedding. They cover the ceremony.

Why reception pricing is "on request", and what to ask for

A reception price depends on your date, the room, the menu, the drinks and the headcount, so most hotels quote it only after an enquiry. Langkawi follows that pattern: six of the ten resorts whose wedding pages we could read print no wedding price at all. Two of the Marriott-group pages say they have "custom" or "exclusive" wedding packages, and neither prints a price. The rest of this section covers what Langkawi's resorts do publish.

One resort does publish the shape of its pricing. The Ritz-Carlton's FAQ sets minimums of 50 persons for its ballroom and 30 for the Horizon bar or the garden. It suggests a restaurant lunch or dinner (minimum 30) for weddings of 30 to 50. It takes a 20% deposit calculated on the food-and-beverage minimum plus any room rental, and that deposit is non-refundable. No price is attached to any of those terms. It is still the only page that tells you what the quote will be built from.

Ask these in your first email:

  • What is the food-and-beverage minimum for our date and our space, and is it a spend or a headcount?
  • Is there a room or venue rental on top of the minimum? Is the beach or lawn charged differently from the ballroom?
  • Is the per-person price nett, or "++"? If "++", what is the service charge percentage, and what tax is added, at what rate?
  • Does the ceremony package have to be booked with the reception, or can we have a reception without it?
  • What does the drinks price cover? Per person, per hour or on consumption, and which drinks?
  • What is corkage, and can we bring our own? The Ritz-Carlton requires any bottles brought in to be duty paid and sealed, and "reserves the right not to serve duty-free and/or opened bottles". Ask any resort whether it has the same rule.
  • Must we be staying at the resort, and is there a minimum number of rooms or nights for the wedding party?
  • What are the deposit and cancellation terms, and is the deposit refundable?
  • Is the package price still current for our date, and are there blackout dates? Four Seasons says blackout dates are "subject to our Resort's discretion".
  • What does a non-religious celebrant's ceremony mean legally? Usually nothing. See the next section.

Tax and service charge: what we could verify, and what we couldn't

Service tax. Langkawi is a designated area under Malaysia's Service Tax Act 2018. The Royal Malaysian Customs Department's own service tax FAQ says services provided within a designated area are "not subject to service tax except prescribed by Minister". The Minister's order listing those exceptions (P.U. (A) 212/2018) originally named accommodation and food and beverages. An amendment in force from 6 September 2018 (P.U. (A) 232/2018) limited both items to "special areas", such as free zones and licensed warehouses. The later amendments we read add neither back for designated areas. That includes the newest, P.U. (A) 337/2026, in force from 25 September 2026, which rewrites the accommodation item and still limits it to "accommodation premises in special areas". Our reading is that a Langkawi resort's rooms and catering fall outside service tax. That is our reading of the published orders, not a ruling. Treat it as a reason to ask, not an answer. Ask the resort to state its tax treatment in writing on the quote.

Service charge. We haven't verified any official rule that sets or caps a hotel service charge in Malaysia, so we state no rate. Ask for it as a percentage, and ask whether it applies to the package, the food, the drinks, or all three.

The legal marriage is a separate cost

Every package above uses a non-religious celebrant. A celebrant's ceremony at a resort is a celebration, not a marriage registration. If you want to be legally married in Malaysia, the paperwork, fees and waiting periods are separate from anything a resort sells. They're covered in getting married in Malaysia as a foreigner. Many couples marry legally at home and hold the celebration here.

How we got these numbers

  • When: first on 24 September 2026, from our Langkawi verification pass of that day. We re-read every price on this page on the resort's own current page on 4 October 2026: Four Seasons' four package pages, Berjaya's factsheet and package page, The Danna's weddings page, Pelangi's wedding page and package PDF, and The Ritz-Carlton's events page. Nothing had changed. We added Pelangi on 27 September 2026, after missing its wedding page on the first pass.
  • Which resorts: Four Seasons, The Ritz-Carlton, The St. Regis, The Westin, The Datai, The Danna, Berjaya, Aloft Langkawi Pantai Tengah, PARKROYAL and Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa all have wedding pages we could read. We missed Pelangi's on 24 September and added it after reading it on 27 September. The Andaman isn't included: it has been closed since a fire on 12 January 2021 (its owner's stock exchange filing, as reported by The Edge). Hilton Burau Bay Langkawi Resort opened in 2026 (Hilton's announcement, 29 June 2026); we haven't checked its wedding pages yet.
  • Sources: only each resort's own website or its brand's official property page. We used no wedding marketplace, travel agent or listicle figure. We didn't submit a form or contact anyone to get a price.
  • Archived pages: none. Our first pass used archived copies of Four Seasons' pages, because its site blocks automated reading; every Four Seasons figure here was then read on its live page on 4 October 2026.
  • What we left out, and why. Aloft's page prints a per-person "Catering Services" list. It is labelled as meeting catering, not a wedding price, and it doesn't add up (a coffee break at more than three times the price of breakfast). PARKROYAL's only price was a wedding offer whose booking window closed on 31 December 2024. Four Seasons' press-site capacities are meeting figures. We didn't use any of them.
  • What we don't do: estimate a price a hotel hasn't published, multiply a per-person price into a total, or put two figures with different bases either side of a dash.

If a resort publishes a new price, or tells us one of these is wrong, we'll correct this page and date the change.

Prices on this page are as published by each resort on the dates shown, in Malaysian ringgit. They are not quotes, they are not our estimates, and US dollar figures are conversions at one day's official rate. For a real number, contact the resort.
