Wedding planners for Langkawi
Who plans weddings on Langkawi, what each planner's own website says it does and charges, when a planner earns their fee over the resort's own team, and what to ask before you hire one.
Do you need a planner?
Langkawi's resorts sell and run weddings through their own teams, and for a small ceremony at one resort that may be all you need. Four Seasons' packages include an "on-site wedding specialist", Pelangi's wedding page offers "dedicated wedding planners", PARKROYAL has "wedding specialists" and Berjaya says "leave the planning to us".
A planner of your own earns their fee when:
- you're planning from abroad and can't visit the resorts yourself;
- the wedding runs over several days, or across more than one venue;
- you're bringing vendors in from Penang, Kuala Lumpur or overseas: decor, a mandap, caterers, musicians;
- you want someone on your side, comparing resorts and quotes rather than selling one.
What a planner does that the resort doesn't
- Compares resorts and their quotes for you.
- Finds and manages vendors the resort doesn't supply, and the logistics of bringing them to the island.
- Keeps one timeline across the resort, the vendors and your guests.
- Runs the day, including the parts that happen outside the resort.
Planners whose own websites say they plan Langkawi weddings
Everything below comes from each business's own website, read on 4 October 2026. We haven't contacted any of them, we have no arrangement with any of them, and this isn't a recommendation. Where a website doesn't say something, we say "not stated". Ask each one to confirm before you rely on it.
Hanngevent
- Based: its site says it organises weddings "predominantly in Langkawi" and was founded in 2010.
- What it sells: three levels on its packages page. Day coordination for couples who have booked their own venue and vendors; planning, which adds budget, venue and vendor guidance and design; and full service planning, from concept to the day, with optional help on transport, guests' welcome bags and hotel accommodation.
- Published price: not stated.
- Langkawi weddings it shows: its testimonials include couples who married at The Westin Langkawi, one with 131 guests and one with four days of events.
Gadis Events
- Based: "based in Langkawi", founded in 2018, according to its site.
- What it sells: wedding planning, Indian weddings, proposals, pre-wedding photoshoots and event support. Its ceremony package lists a floral arch, bouquet, boutonnière, garden chairs, a make-up artist, a photographer for five hours, a basic sound system and two coordinators, "valid for maximum 50 persons". It sells a dinner reception package separately. Its Indian wedding planning covers four events (sangeet or mehndi, haldi, the ceremony and the dinner reception), including venue, vendor, decor and guest-transport coordination.
- Published price: its pages show starting prices, but each is marked valid until 30 June 2026 (its add-ons, until 30 June 2025). Those dates have passed, so we don't repeat them. Ask for a current quote.
- Langkawi weddings it shows: a featured-work page; its package terms name surcharges for Rebak and The Datai.
MY Wedding Planner
- Based: not stated on its Langkawi page. The site is run by MW Collective Events Sdn Bhd.
- What it sells: its Langkawi page lists planning meetings, venue coordination, "accommodation and transportation arrangement", vendor coordination, a celebrant, make-up, photography and videography coordination, decoration and flowers, and day-of management.
- Published price: not stated. It says terms depend on "wedding size, location, venue requirements and selected services".
Midsummer Events
- Based: it offers in-person meetings to clients in Kuala Lumpur and plans "in most of the regions in Malaysia", Langkawi included.
- What it sells: full planning and coordination. Its intimate packages page describes a three-day, two-night Langkawi elopement for two (a beach ceremony at The Danna or The Ritz-Carlton, as Midsummer describes it, with styling, make-up, four hours of photography and of video, dinner and two nights' stay), and a ceremony on a catamaran with a half-day cruise.
- Published price: its FAQ says its "minimum planning fee starts at RM10,000 for weddings with up to 50 guests", with at least two planners. Apart from Bukit Tinggi and Janda Baik, it says, "for all other locations in Malaysia, accommodation and travel expenses for our team will be covered by the client, in addition to our planning fee". The Langkawi elopement package has no price on the page.
Moments
- Based: not stated on its projects page.
- What it shows: its projects page lists weddings at The Westin Langkawi and The Datai Langkawi.
- Published price: not stated.
Some planners based in India, Singapore and elsewhere also advertise Langkawi weddings, especially multi-day Indian weddings. The same questions apply to them.
How planners charge
Of the planners above, one publishes a current fee: Midsummer Events, from RM10,000 for up to 50 guests, plus, for Langkawi, its team's travel and accommodation. The others quote after a consultation. Some planners charge a flat planning fee, some a percentage of the wedding budget, and some also take commission from resorts or vendors. None of the pages we read says whether the planner takes commission. Ask every planner to say in writing how they're paid, including any commission.
Guest rooms. Hanngevent, MY Wedding Planner and Midsummer all say they can help with accommodation. Ask whether they book rooms themselves or through a licensed travel agent, and who holds the room block if fewer guests come.
Our planning partner
We don't have a planning partner yet. We'll name one here only once a partnership is agreed and the planner has confirmed their own details. If you'd like a planner, tick "I'm interested in a local planner on the island" on the planning form.
Questions to ask any planner
- How many Langkawi weddings did you plan last year, and at which resorts?
- How are you paid: a fee, a percentage, commission from suppliers, or a mix?
- Is the price on your website still current? If it shows a validity date, has it passed?
- Do you book guest rooms yourselves, or through a licensed travel agent?
- Who will be on the island on the day, and do your travel and accommodation costs come on top?
- Can you show a wedding like ours: the same size, the same culture?
